Με αφορμη το επερχομενο σημερινο φιναλε του Rebels (θα μας λειψεις), ας δουμε μερικες εξελιξεις οσον αφορα το franchise και το fanbase του. Η επισημη ιστοσελιδα του Star Wars στο facebook ανεβασε σημερα διαφημιση για την κυκλοφορια του Last Jedi σε DVD κτλ σε 8 μερες, και ενα απο τα σχολια που ανεβηκαν ψηλα στα top comments ηταν το εξης:

Brian Tellefsen I would rather have Jar Jar Binks than what they did to Luke. Please stop saying they gave him depth. What exactly was the depth they gave him? They made him more human because he wanted to kill his nephew, yeah because that makes him human.

Jason Townsend The prequels were boring, the acting was bad, but they had the most important elements that the Last Jedi doesn’t have… a well written story that doesn’t break continuity with the other films.

John Dodge I didn’t “love” the prequels…the acting was poor, the story was a bit silly at times, but i still have seen them multiple times…The Last Jedi was so gawdawful i can honestly say i will never watch it again. It was 2 hours of pointless nonsense that didn’t advance the story or make sense…Rian Johnson just got the characters themselves wrong…Jar Jar Binks was bad, but there are sooo many more things wrong with The Last Jedi…

TFA and TLJ are objectively bad movies on every level.
Can’t say the same for the prequels which only fail in some areas and rise high in others.
Και φυσικα υπαρχουν εκατονταδες ακομα απαντησεις οι οποιες με βρισκουν αλλες απολυτα συμφωνο, αλλες συμφωνο στα περισσοτερα. Συζητησα με 3 πολυ καλους φιλους τους τελευταιους μηνες γυρω απο το Last Jedi και το Star Wars γενικοτερα, οι οποιοι μεχρι προσφατως ισχυριζονταν πως τα prequels ειναι κακες ταινιες, και μετα απο σοβαρη κουβεντα χωρις εγωισμους γυρω απο το θεμα, παραδεχθηκαν και οι 3 πως βασικα δεν τα θυμουνται και πολυ καλα τα prequels, και πως μπορει να επεσαν θυματα του hype πριν 10-15 χρονια, αφου ηταν γενικα η στανταρ αποψη να μισεις τα prequels, και πως τελικα οντως ανεξαρτητα απο τα οποια προβληματα, τουλαχιστον ειχαν εξαιρετικο storytelling και plot που εβγαζε νοημα και που εδενε πολυ ομορφα το main story arc των originals. Τελικα πιστευω πως το μεγαλυτερο καλο που εκανε το Last Jedi στο franchise (αν οχι το μοναδικο), ειναι οτι ανοιξε τα ματια και τα μυαλα πολλων ανθρωπων, και μπορει να συμβει το ιδιο και με περισσοτερους στο μελλον
