Τώρα θα γίνω λίγο ρομαντικός, αλλά Syd Barrett= πολλά πράγματα μέχρι τα πάντα που έκαναν οι Floyd (και ιδίως στο ‘‘Wish ypu were here’’, αλλά ακόμα και στο ‘‘The wall’’). Καταλαβαίνεις τι εννοώ. Σαν ‘‘αύρα’’, σαν επιρροή, σαν ‘‘είμαι ακόμα εδώ και σας βλέπω’’.
Ουσιαστικά το ‘‘The final cut’’ είναι το ‘‘The momentary lapse of reason’’ του Waters. Περιέχει κάποιες φοβερές στιγμές, αλλά γενικώς για το Floyd επίπεδο είναι μέτριο. Ούτε μία αποκορύφωση, κάπως λειψό και στεγνό.
Ισχύει, απλά μουσικά η Syd era τελειώνει στο Jugband Blues.
Ψάξτε και τα early singles όσοι δεν το έχετε κάνει ακόμα, ε!
Eπειδή βλέπω γίνεται η σχετική κουβέντα, και οι δύο σας αλλά και όποιος άλλος γουσταίρνει πάτε και τσεκάρετε το ακόλουθο που είχα βάλει στo θρεντ Tribute albums, αλλά μόνο ο bilzzoras το πήρε πρέφα.
Θα κολλήσετε άσχημα όμως.

Πω, ρε, αυτό το έχω τσεκάρει να το ακούσω εδώ και καιρό (μαζί με καμιά 100ια άλλα C.D.). Πρέπει κάποτε να το κάνω. Έχει και εξωφυλλάρα, ε.
Το ‘‘Early singles’’ είναι καταπληκτικό, ε. :!: Και είναι κρίμα που πολλοί δεν το έχουν ακούσει. Δηλαδή, ακούς κάτι ‘‘Julia dream’’ και μένεις.
Απο τις πλέον ανατριχιαστικές στιγμές των παλιών Floyd (αν και χωρίς τον Barrett το συγκεκριμένο)

Φυσικα δεν μιλαμε για την καλυτερη περιοδο των Floyd, αλλα για την πιο αγαπημενη, που μας αγγιζει προσωπικα.
Πώς θα γινοταν αλλωστε να συγκρινει καποιος π.χ. το Echoes με το Shine on you crazy diamond και να καταληξει ποιο ειναι καλυτερο? Θα ειχε βεβαια ενδιαφερον να το κουβεντιασουμε αλλα δεν νομιζω οτι γινεται.
Ετσι, προσωπικα, οι δυο καθοριστικοι παραγοντες για να επιλεξω αγαπημενη Pink Floyd era ειναι αρχικα το Animals, και συγκεκριμενα το Dogs, που θυμαμαι εντονα να με καθηλωνουν οι στιχοι απο το πρωτο ακουσμα και χωρις δευτερη σκεψη η ταινια The Wall που θεωρω οτι αν σε αγγιξει μια φορα θα σε ακολουθει για παντα.
Ψιλοαπογοήτευση τελικώς το tribute.
Φοβερή (αναμενόμενο) η διασκευή των Jesu στο Chapter 24, πολύ καλές οι προσπάθειες των Kylesa, Jarboe, Giant Squid, Circle. Όμορφη αλλά πιστή επανεκτέλεση στο Astronomy από Dredg, απαράδεκτη αυτή των Unearthly Trance στο Long Gone. Τα υπόλοιπα από αδιάφορα έως απλά καλά.
Τελικά όσο απλή και να φαντάζει η μουσική του Syd αποδεικνύεται πόσο μοναδικές ήταν οι συνθέσεις του αφού λίγες μπάντες κατόρθωσαν να κάνουν “δικά τους” τα κομμάτια.
Eμ, έχω άλλη άποψη, αλλά αφού προσπέρασες έτσι απλά το Lucifer Sam από Yakuza, δεν βαριέσαι.
Αν και ψηφισα Wish you were here, συμφωνω απολυτα με το πυκνογραμμενο division bell.
Μου θυμιζει και φοιτητικα χρονια, αν και δεν ειναι κρητηριο αυτο.

Pink Floyd 8mm - Harvested Records (HRV DVD 009) NTSC
I discovered most of these 8mm films over 20 years ago and have enjoyed watching
my low gen VHS copies ever since. When I began archiving my collection onto DVD,
I knew that one day I’d be faced with the task of digitally remastering these old 8mm
films. I was fortunate enough to know the person that purchased the original films
of the Hollywood Bowl and LA Sports Arena which were professionally transferred to
S-VHS tape in the late 80’s. This person was kind enough to loan me his master which
I captured and used as the source for this DVD. I wish I could say that the Vienna
footage was any better than what has been in circulation, but there’s a good chance
that those videos used mine as a source anyway. The short Anaheim 77 footage and
the newly surfaced Munich 77 footage round this collection off nicely. There’s not
much available in regards to video footage from 1972-1977 (a very significant time in
the band’s history, especially in regards to live performance), so hopefully this will fill in
a few of the gaps for the time being.
Every single shot is not in perfect synch, and some artistic license has been applied
throughout. I also chose to end the DVD with the Munich footage, opting to stray
from the actual chronological order.
8mm took me two years to finish, working in my spare time, and frequently getting
frustrated and stuck. I replaced all the audio from the original footage that had live
sound (LA 75, Vienna 77) and synched up the correct audio to the rest, which was never
properly done until now. This was a tedious, mind-numbing process that was very rewarding
at times. I’m happy that it’s finally all wrapped up and that I can share it with the fans.
Please keep in mind that all songs are incomplete and often cut into short segments. This
is due to the limited nature of the original 8mm film cartridges which only accomodated a
few minutes at a time.

Όσο και να έκραζε ο Roger τις εμφανίσεις της “In The Flesh” περιοδείας επειδή έπαιζαν σε στάδια κτλ κτλ, εκείνη η περιοδεία όσον αφορά το σετλιστ, ήταν από τις κορυφαίες τους. Μιλάμε για εκτελέσεις ολόκληρου του “Animals” και ολόκληρου του “Wish You Were Here” συνεχόμενα. Και μετά από αυτά, encore με 2-3 έπη ακόμα.
Τελειότητες δηλαδή.
