Η παραγωγη των Yes σε συνεργασια με τον Eddie Offord στο Fragile ειναι υποδειγματικη και τελεια.
__Είχαμε σκληρό ανταγωνισμό, αλλά τελικα η ψήφος μου πήγε σε άλλον απ’ τους προτινόμενους.

__Τεχνικός ήχου στο st.Peppers Lonely Hearts Band (ίσως ο πιο πρωτοποριακός δίσκος των Beatles).
__Εχει κάνεις τις παραγωγές στους δικούς του δίσκους, όπου την πρώτη φορά που τοποθέτησα cd του sto cd-player μου, έπαθα ένα μικρό σοκ. Ξαφνικά, εκεί που σε όλα τα άλλα μουσικά cd ο ήχος παραμόρφωνε και έλεγα “αχ το καημένο το Philips, όταν το παίζω με τσίτα τα γκάζια τα φτύνει”, απο το δικό του έβγαινε ακόμα καθαρός και διαυγής.
__Πολύ καλός παραγωγός και μουσικός, με γνώστη και ιστορικότατες /ουσιαστικότατες συμμετοχές /δουλειές. Οποτε μπαίνει το ονοματάκι του στην παραγωγή, δε με έχει αφήσει ποτέ απογοητευμένο. Ακόμη (κάτι που είναι και καλό και κακό, ανάλογα του μουσικούς με τους οποίους συνεργάζεται), δίνει την αίσθηση ότι δεν επιβάλλει στιλ και ύφος, ίσως μόνο στην τεχνική υπεροχή, του ήχητικού αποτελέσματος.
__Για τους παραπάνω, προσωπικούς και βιοματικούς λόγους, αλλά καθώς ήταν ευκαιρία να αναφέρω ακόμα έναν εξαιρετικό παραγωγό, ψηφίζω και αναφέρω αυτόν. Αυτά και πολλά άλλα…
martin birch.οτι καλυτερο εχω ακουσει σε παραγωγο hard rock/heavy metal.
deep purple αν εξαιρεσω το in rock πολυ καλος
rainbow εξαιρετικος
black sabbath αλλαξε ολο τον ηχο τους ωντας παραγωγος στο ανεπανεληπτο heaven and hell.
iron maiden-διδαξε τι σημαινει hard rock/heavy παραγωγη
msg-παραγωγος στο καλυτερο τους album to εξαιρετικο assault attack.
boc-στα ιδια υψηλα επιπεδα.
νομιζω οτι ειναι ο παραγωγος που κατα 60%/70% διαμορφωσε και επειρεασε τis hard/heavy παραγωγες στα 70ες και 80ες.
Mikko Karmilla και ο Jusila
έχω την εντύπωση πως είναι και λίγο θέμα συνδυασμού.
Κανείς δεν μπορεί να αμφισβητήσει την παραγωγή του Rock στο Black Album. Ίσως η καλύτερη ever. Κανείς δεν μπορεί να αμφισβητήσει τη συνεισφορά του στο St. Anger. Πιθανότατα η χειρότερη ever.
Εγγύση στον power metal ήχο είναι ο Sascha Paeth. Συμμετέχει σε ολους τους τομείς της παραγωγής.
Επίσης, θα προσθέσω τον Kevin Shirley. Και μόνο το γεγονός ότι πλέον συνεργάζεται μόνο με τους Iron Maiden, τους Dream Theater και τους Aerosmith κάτι λέει.
Και φυσικά ο Rick Rubin.

Εννοείται Rick Rubin μόνο και μόνο λόγω του εύρους τοων μουσικών ειδών πάνω στα οποία έχει δουλέψει…Κανένας άλλος δεν θα μπορούσε να κάνει δίσκο με τους slipknot και την επόμενη χρονιά με τη shakira!

When I was in junior high in 1979, my classmates all liked Led Zeppelin. But I loved AC/DC. I got turned on to them when I heard them play “Problem Child” on The Midnight Special. Like Zeppelin, they were rooted in American R&B, but AC/DC took it to a minimal extreme that had never been heard before. Of course, I didn’t know that back then. I only knew that they sounded better than any other band.
For AC/DC, rock began with Chuck Berry and ended around Elvis. They poured their lifeblood into that groove, and they mastered it. Highway to Hell is probably the most natural-sounding rock record I’ve ever heard. There’s so little adornment. Nothing gets in the way of the push-and-pull between the guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young, bassist Cliff Williams and drummer Phil Rudd. For me, it’s the embodiment of rock & roll.
When I’m producing a rock band, I try to create albums that sound as powerful as Highway to Hell. Whether it’s the Cult or the Red Hot Chili Peppers, I apply the same basic formula: Keep it sparse. Make the guitar parts more rhythmic. It sounds simple, but what AC/DC did is almost impossible to duplicate. A great band like Metallica could play an AC/DC song note for note, and they still wouldn’t capture the tension and release that drives the music. There’s nothing like it.
The other thing that separates AC/DC as a hard-rock band is that you can dance to their music. They didn’t play funk, but everything they played was funky. And that beat could really get a crowd going. I first saw them play in 1979, before their singer Bon Scott died and was replaced by Brian Johnson. They were opening for Ted Nugent at Madison Square Garden. The crowd yanked all the chairs off the floor and piled them into a pyramid in front of the stage. It was a tribute to how great they were.
I got the chance to work with AC/DC on the 1995 album Ballbreaker. The best thing was the return of Phil Rudd, who had left the band in 1982. To me, that made them AC/DC again. You can hear it in how he drags behind the beat. It’s that same rhythm that first drew me to them in junior high.
I’ll go on record as saying they’re the greatest rock & roll band of all time. They didn’t write emotional lyrics. They didn’t play emotional songs. The emotion is all in that groove. And that groove is timeless.
