Review στα αγγλικά από Αυστραλία. Το βάζω spoiler γιατί είναι μεγαλούτσικο, αλλά ουσιώδες. 50.000 maniacs with horns up!

[SPOILER]Well peoples its Kiss time again in Australia and its time for the Jman’s review of the Kiss shows. Firstly Id like to say how boring the race was and the weather was an absolute joke. How can a venue run outta water is beyond me. It was extrenely weird to actually see a kiss stage show in the daylight and it was awesome to hear the classic Who song again even though it was not to start the show. We had got our place at 6pm and Vanessa Amarossi was into her set and looking hot as by the way. Then she ended the show and dusk was about to set upon a scorching hotday in Melbourne and the crowd was growing restless. Then we finally get the sign we had been waiting for the massive curtain. The anticipation was to much to bear but we didnt have long to go now and Kiss would be on stage.

The came the catchcry that we had all been waiting for Awwww right Australian Grand Prix you wanted the best well you got the best the hottest band in the world KISSSSSSSSS. They come out all guns blazing and rip into a starter that we know and love Deuce. The flashpots were nice and loud and we knew as soon as the night was upon us that we were in for a massive treat with the pyro. After the song Paul started with the raps early and was asking how we were doing and if we were ready for a rock n roll party. 2nd song was Shout It Out Loud and this one had the 50,000 strong crowd with horns up singing every word with them.

The 3rd song was a surprise inclusion as it hasnt been played in Australia many times and sounded absolutely awesome and makes you wonder why C’mon and Love Me isnt always on the setlist. Then Paul started with his raps about licking it up and it was great to lick downunder. At this time everyone knew what was to foillow and Paul rips into an awesome version of the song Lick It Up. They were really enjoying themselves up there and you can genuinely see Paul and the boys with massive smiles on their faces and tallking to each other. Then came the Gene classic I Love It Loud. Gene was doing his best to whip this frenzied crowd into mass Kissteria.

They then go into Calling Dr. Love and you can see that Gene loves singing and playing this song and he puts extra effort in his Owww’s and I am the doctor of loves. Then came the biggest surprise of the night and a real case of life imitating art. The song was called Shock me and I think 50,000 people were just that. I personally thought that it was great that Tommy got to sing the song and did an absolute stellar job and the crowd were definitely 100% rooting for him.

Then came a little bit of comedy for the night with Paul forgetting the album that Let Me Go Rock N Roll came off. He started with Rock N Roll Over then went to Hotter Than Hell then finally deciding that it came off Dressed To Kill. Then it was to call out the Firehouse and Gene breathing the fire that has made him an absolute legend in the 35 years that they have been touring the world. Then it was good to see the boys include an old favourite that has been missing from the setlist for awhile the song was 100,000 Years. They absolutely nailed the song and the crowd was enjoying every minute of the fast and furious firework laced show.

Then we come to the scary part of the show and Gene is in front of us looking at his menancing best. We all know whats about to come but the Jman still stands in awe at a man who is petrified of heights being lifted to the highest part of the stage to sing his staple song God Of Thunder. Then came another funny part of the night when Paul started the beginning of this song many times because it was not to his liking. The final time I think they would have heard the crowd all over Australia and other planets sounded so awesome and Paul looked like a proud dad when he heard us sing Black Diamond. Eric was absoultely awesome on vocals but hey whats different he always is.

Then came the part where Paul asks the audience that he wants to join us. The crowd as usual roars their approval and Paul flys onto a platform into the distance to perform one of the lost loved Kiss classics Love Gun. Unfortunately at this time the crowd is getting ready for the real fact that the show is coming to an end. Paul goes into his rap about this song being about all Kiss loving countries in the world and they rip into one of the recognised opening riffs. The crowd was singing and mimicing every movement of the enigmatic front man. The song is Detroit Rock City and sounded absolutely awesome and the fireworks and flashpots were bigger and better on this song.

This is their first break of the night and the crowd were going absolute bananas and hanging for the usual encores that usually blow the venue they are playing apart. The first one everyone knew by the fact that Paul asked for his acoustic guitar and ripped into one the most emotional versions of Shandi that I have ever seen. Then it was time for a song that 50,000 people would have known due to the popularity that it bought the band in 79/80 in Australia and the world alike. I was made for loving you was the song and boy did they nail every chorus and note on this one. Then cam the saddest part of the night with the last song of the night.

The song was the universal rock n roll national anthem and we knew that the song was gonna blow up Albert Park and leave us on a high note. In a hail of sparklers, flashpots, fireworks and an absolute ton of confetti the first show of the Alive 35 tour was over. I personally loved the show and judging by the massive crowd and applause received I was not alone.

I have just arrived in Brisbane today and cannot wait until tomorrow’s show. I hope the review is enjoyed by all as the show was unbelievable and it was great to hear a few classics that have not been heard for a very long time.
