Mental Architects are a meth-rock trio from the small town of Sofia, Bulgaria. We are very conscious of that, however we try to break away from the lack of tradition in rock music in our area with a style of ?Joie de Vivre? instrumental rock close to the sound of ASIWYFA and Fang Island.
The band?s latest full-length release -?Celebrations?, which came out on 2/APR/2012 is definitely a step in the direction of disproving that instrumental rock aesthetic belongs only to the ones from the West.
Celebrations was produced and engineered by non-other than Aaron Harris (ex-ISIS) with mastering handled by Mr. James Plotkin (Khanate).
The record includes notable guest appearances by Joseph Andreoli of math-rock bigwigs Giraffes? Giraffes! and Bryant Clifford Meyer of Red Sparowes.
At this point in time ?Celebrations? is holding the #1 position under the ?math-rock? tag in Bandcamp, standing proud next to/ahead of releases by Tera Melos, Hella and Russian Circles.
The band has one previous official release ? the EP ?Patience, Communication, Understanding, Go!? which came out in 2011 and was produced/engineered by Chris Common of These Arms Are Snakes.
Gig-wise the band has a rich experience in promoting local shows as well touring since 2008. Thanks to our devoted local following we managed to organize the first successful post-rock/doom/math shows in Bulgaria and had the privilege of sharing the stage with bands like: Khuda, Rosa Parks, Tides From Nebula, Midas Fall & most recently God Is An Astronaut.
