Criteria are being created for what inflames and what doesn’t, what divides and what supports, a plebiscite on who should be supported now, and so on. But I can imagine the surprise and confusion, and I understand it. I’ve managed to get a bit familiar with this “internet psychology” and our “collective consciousness” (or rather, unconsciousness). Besides, I don’t like being sad, feeling pain; it’s better not to feel it, to “escape into something else,” to change direction… That’s why I wasn’t surprised by the almost immediate rallying cry, “Let them play on! With a new frontman!” Following the principle of “march or die.” And all this on the first day of (now “official”) mourning… Okay, but we are human beings, after all, with emotions. Everyone has their own problems and deals with them as best they can. I’m also writing now as best I can, as I want, and as much as I want.
So let’s jump into this river again.
I don’t need to describe how incredibly difficult and complex this time is for everyone. I’d just like to add my personal piece to the puzzle of this past year and the announcements, because I have the impression that this is what stirs the most emotion and controversy. When the band returned from their final shows of 2025 (Cruise To The Edge) in April, we all knew (you all included) that there would be a break in all band activity by the end of 2025. The dispute, which had already been ongoing, was reaching its climax. To say it was a conflict between just two people (although this one was indeed crucial) is, in my opinion, a gross oversimplification, as sparks were flying between all four of them at varying intensities. This is a normal relationship dynamic, as you’re certainly familiar with it: sometimes it’s better, sometimes it’s worse. Only when this “worse” becomes permanent and the “tools for defusing” run out, does it explode? Incidentally, the 2025 break was supposed to provide time for further talks, explanations, calming down, and decisions. It turned out there would be no agreement on a key issue. And here we come to the statement. Since the beginning of January 2026, Mariusz has been proposing in email correspondence to all band members that, in light of the current situation, a joint statement be written and published on the band’s social media. In February, he even proposed the content of such a statement – incidentally, it was more lenient in content and diplomatic. In short: “about the suspension of the band’s activities until further notice.” And he sent it again to all band members. I know because I have these messages. There was no consent from all involved for such a publication. There was not even a discussion about its content, nor negotiations. So, as you can see, I expected Mariusz’s statement. Hence, my dears, you are receiving your third message today.
To the bank (and the river too).
My time in the Riverside band has ended, and I want to emphasize one key reason: I don’t see how it can continue without its leader and such an important person as Mariusz. I was there, I know how it is, and that’s my decision, my personal one. I have the right to make it.
Now, the most important thing, and it would be nice if you could keep it clear.
It’s hard to put into words my gratitude for your support, acceptance, and welcome. I’ll never forget it. Only I know how hard it was for me, even though I didn’t fully realize it when I took on the challenge… I imagine and know that it wasn’t easy for many of you, either. We don’t all have to like each other, right?But it was more enjoyable together. I’ve been experiencing sadness and grief for some time now, but today there’s more of a sense of relief and gratitude for this time: although difficult, it’s absolutely priceless. For these nearly eight years, I’ve tried to do one thing, and in my opinion, the most important thing – play Riverside’s music for you as best I can and enjoy our shared experience, our presence. And what’s the most beautiful thing about it? This music has helped create completely new, fantastic friendships, relationships, and connections with many of you, which last and I hope will last. That’s real strength!
Remember that what happens doesn’t change what you have – what remains with you is Riverside’s wonderful work, beautiful concert memories, and above all, the people whom, like me, you met through the band’s music…
I may be saying goodbye to some of you, but I’m sure we’ll see many more again (it’s already happening). New sounds will certainly emerge in various configurations, so we’ll have plenty of excuses.Stay warm, remember Riverside, and thank you again for everything.

Αυτό θα είναι ένα ερώτημα. Αναρωτιέμαι αν θα συμβεί, όμως εικάζω ότι μπορεί να θέλουν να το κλείσουν. Εξάλλου, πρόκειται πιο πολύ για τρεις μουσικούς που το έχουν με τη solo δισκογραφία, λίγο σαν τους Porcupine Tree μετά το κλείσιμο. Wilson μόνος του (και κάτι μου λέει ότι ο Duda επιχειρεί να γίνει ένας Wilson), Barbieri μόνος του με soundtrackικές δουλειές (όπως κάνει κι ο Lapaj), και Harisson μόνος του / σεσιονάς (όπως είναι και ο Maciek)
Edit: καθόμου και κοιτούσα να δω τι δεν μου πάει καλά με το “Gavisson” και αναρωτιόμουν αν τον λένε Harris Gavisson ή Gavin Harisson

Ας λέμε τα πράγματα όπως είναι. Άλλη μια μπάντα που κατέστρεψε ο Wilson, μετά από κάτι Opeth και Anathema 
Πέρα από την πλάκα, δεν είμαστε σίγουροι αν όλοι είχαν πρόβλημα με τον ντράμερ. Από τις διάφορες ανακοινώσεις φαίνεται το αυτονόητο, ότι δηλαδή τα πράγματα και οι σχέσεις μέσα σε ένα συγκρότημα είναι κάτι περίπλοκο και δυναμικό. Ας μην προκαταβάλουμε ότι οι τρεις μπορούν σήμερα να δουλέψουν απροβλημάτιστα μεταξύ τους και ότι το πρόβλημα ήταν ο ντράμερ. Σε κάθε περίπτωση, τεράστια μαλακία αυτό που έγινε, γιατί μιλάμε για σπουδαίο συγκρότημα.

Για Opeth δεν εχω γνωμη γιατι δεν μου αρεσουν καθολου, και μαλιστα ο μονος δισκος τους που μπορω να ακουσω ειναι το Heritage, αρα οριακα για μενα ο Wilson ισως και να τους “εφτιαξε” Τωρα για Anathema τι να πω, εμενα μου αρεσει παρα πολυ η περιοδος Wilson και θα ηταν οτι πιο βαρετο να συνεχισουν να παιζουν κλαψιαρικα για ολη τους την καριερα. Ξεχασες ομως την σημαντικοτερη μπαντα που κατεστρεψε

Σιγά μωρέ, μόνο ένα δίσκο τους μίξαρε. Δεν είχε και ιδιαίτερα ενεργή ανάμιξη (π.χ. ως παραγωγός).
Η ουσία του πράγματος είναι ότι μια λατρεμένη μπάντα τελείωσε.
Μια από τις 4-5 πιο αγαπημένες μου μπάντες.

Η μουσική τους ήταν για 20+ χρόνια ένα υπέροχο, μοναδικό ταξίδι για εμένα. Από τότε που άκουσα για πρώτη φορά το Volte-face…
Ακόμα και τώρα όταν ακούω αυτά τα τελευταία λεπτά του πρώτου τους κομματιού του πρώτου τους δίσκου, The Same River, ανατριχίλα μόνο.
Και θυμάμαι πόσο πραγματικά είχα στεναχωρηθεί, είχα πονέσει όταν έφυγε έτσι ξαφνικά και τόσο νέος ο Piotr.
Τους ευχαριστώ λοιπόν για όλα και για αυτο το μαγικό ταξίδι και τις χιλιάδες ώρες που έχω περάσει ακούγοντας την Μουσική τους.
Προφανώς και θα ήθελα να συνεχίσουν για άλλα 20 χρόνια αλλά έτσι είναι η ζωή…
Όλα τα πράγματα έχουν αρχή, μέση και τέλος.
Βάζω αυτό το αριστούργημα έτσι για να το θυμηθούμε λίγο, και ειδικά αυτό που ακούμε στο 9ο λεπτο περίπου και μέχρι το τέλος.
