"Originally the plan was to get back into writing and then recording this year but this tour was so successful with the demand for us to carry on and play a little bit longer. So we played with the ideas and as we got closer to the end of the tour we realised we were going to get a lot of push to continue it. And we wanted to, we didn’t think we were going to have quite as much fun as we’ve had with it.

“The whole idea of doing Moving Pictures and not sharing it, particularly in the UK, was a real concern of ours. So Ged and I will get back to writing in the new year. We’ll get through the Christmas holidays and start writing through January and February. We only have two or three more songs that we feel we need for the album. So we can start reworking the material and get it in great shape. Then we’ll prepare for the tour in March, finish in July, take the summer off then start work in earnest in September”

Η περιοδεα τους πάει μια χαρά, γιατί να μην την συνεχίζουν. Και πουουου θα είναι μέχρι τον Ιούλιο; Ε; Θα μάθουμε;;; Άντε μην ξαναρχίσω να βρίζω.

[B]RUSH: More ‘Moving Pictures’ 5.1 Surround Sound Remix Details Revealed[/B]

The 5.1 Surround Sound remix of RUSH’s classic 1981 album “Moving Pictures” will be released on April 5. Two packages will be made available ? a CD/DVD set and a CD/BD (Blu-ray disc) set. According to the RushIsABand.com web site, the CD will contain the stereo mix while the DVD/Blu-ray will contain the Audiophile 5.1 Surround and Stereo mix. As an added bonus the DVD/Blu-ray will also contain 5.1 mixes of the music videos for “Tom Sawyer”, “Limelight” and “Vital Signs”.

The 5.1 Surround Sound remix of “Moving Pictures” was handled by Canadian producer/engineer Richard Chycki ? who is known for his work with AEROSMITH and OUR LADY PEACE, and who teamed up with Nick Raskulinecz (RUSH, DEATH ANGEL, STONE SOUR) on RUSH’s last studio album, 2007’s “Snakes & Arrows”. He recently wrote on his official blog, "I finished tweaks on ‘Red Barchetta’ [on February 3]. It really was an amazing experience to spread the original tracks of such a classic CD into the 3D word of surround. (The car speeds off, goes behind and banks a sharp right in rear, [by the way]). The listening experience is drastically enveloping and coupled with songs and performances that epitomize this band, it’s definitely a great time to re-discover RUSH.

“After discussion with the band, the goal here was to pay serious homage to the production of the era so a considerable amount of time was spent researching and working through effects, etc. that matched the original but would fare well in the 5.1 world. And, of course, placement was also a critical issue. I’m pleased with the results and [RUSH guitarist] Alex Lifeson was pretty blown away when he came in to listen to the finals.”

καλά όλα αυτά , αλλά θα επανεκδώσουν καμία φορά τους δίσκους τους σε βινύλιο ? ή το έχουν ήδη κάνει :-k :-s

Xωρίς να είμαι σίγουρος, νομίζω ότι δεν έχουν κυκλοφορήσει σε βινύλιο τίποτα μετά το Counterparts, με εξαίρεση το Snakes and arrows και δε θυμάμαι επίσης να έχουν επανακυκλοφορήσει τίποτα τα τελευταία χρόνια σε βινύλιο.

Βέβαια η μνήμη δεν είναι το δυνατό μου σημείο…

Χθες το βράδυ μετά από πολύυυυ καιρό άκουσα ξανά το Snakes and Arrows…

Φτιάχτηκα πολύ και πήρα μια απόφαση.

Δεν θα αφήσω την περιοδεία του Μαΐου χωρίς να την ψάξω…
Το ξέρω ότι μάλλον δε θα γίνει τίποτα, ή αν γίνει, θα ματώσω πολύ. Αλλά θα το ψάξω μέχρι λίγο πριν το τέλος…

Έχει μέσα και την κομματάρα The body electric. Ποτέ δε μπόρεσα να ακούσω αυτό το τραγούδι μόνο μια φορά. Άγριο κόλλημα μιλάμεεεεε!

Τώρα έχω κολλήσει με Afterimage. Γενικά πολλές κομματάρες ο δίσκος. Distant Early Warning, Red Sector A, Between the Wheels, The Enemy Within…

Tα προσωπικά πονήματα του Alex και του Geddy τα έχει ακούσει κανείς; Τι λένε;

Του Geddy είναι μια χαρά, παίζει drums o Matt Cameron. Του Alex δεν το έχω ακούσει.

Το “My Favourite Headache” έχει 4-5 αρκετά καλά κομμάτια. Κινείται σε πιο “ελαφρούς” και ραδιοφωνικούς ήχους από τους Rush χωρίς να με χαλάει αυτό. Το προτείνω δηλαδή σε κάθε Rush-fan.
Του Alex δεν το έχω ακούσει και αν παίζει κάποιο link πείτε μου.

Για του Geddy έχω την ίδια άποψη. Είναι radio friendly, “popίζει”, με την έννοια του εύπεπτου, αν και έχω να το ακούσω πάρα πολλά χρόνια. Του Alex πρέπει να έχω να το ακούσω από τότε που το πήρα. Ούτε που θυμάμαι τίποτα. Θα πρέπει να τα ξεσκονίσω και τα δύο…

Btw, στο http://www.rushbackstage.com, κυκλοφόρησε καινούριο υλικό για την επερχόμενη περιοδεία. Για όποιον ενδιαφέρεται…

Να μπλέξεις με τελωνείο δεν λέει. Εμένα μου άρεσε η απο κάτω που δεν είναι της περιοδείας πάντως.

Τα είχα πάρει και τα δύο όταν είχαν βγεί. Του Geddy θυμίζει σαφώς περισσότερο Rush λόγω της χαρακτηριστικής φωνής, ήταν ένα καλό υποκατάστατο για τους οπαδούς στη διάρκεια της απουσίας του Peart.

To Power Windows είναι ένα πάρα πολύ καλός δίσκος αλλά μάλλον θα προτιμούσα το εκπληκτικό Grace… στο poll.

Βασικα χρειαζεται ενα αντιπροσωπευτικο πολλ για να κανουμε κουβεντα κι αν ειναι καποιος προθυμος απο τους μοντς το αλλαζει.

Προσωπικα, στα 10 (για να γλιτωσουμε την επιλογη “Αλλο”), θα εβαζα τα:
