MOTÖRHEAD is scheduled to enter the studio this week to begin recording the follow-up to 2006’s “Kiss of Death”. A late spring/early summer release is expected.

Derek hard at work on solo record #6!
Derek has been locked up in his Beachwood Manor Studio writing and recording a new solo record to be in stores by Summer 2008. Guests will include usual suspects Zakk Wylde, Simon Phillips, Steve Lukather, Tony Franklin, Brian Tichy, and others to be named later.

BLABBERMOUTH.NET has received the following statement from the Greek concert promotion agenecy Sold Out Promotion Live The Live Experience:
"Due to the outcome of the Deutsche Assault Festival that took place on January 12th in Athens, Sold Out Promotion Live The Live Experience is sad to announce that all upcoming shows are cancelled, and the company closes down.
"The company’s philosophy to bring underground bands in Greece and at the same time trying to maintain a low ticket so that all fans can enjoy the shows wasn’t appreciated by fans and the people coming in the festival made the company suffer a great economic loss. Under these conditions we feel that continuing in such a manner would be pointless and non viable.
“We are sorry it had to come to this but numbers don’t lie. We would like to apologize to the bands that we have already booked and will keep supporting their work in whatever they do and would like to thank all the fans that attended our shows.”
[B]The following shows have been cancelled:
- Feb. 16 - NWOBHM Festival I @ An Club, Athens (w/ TYGERS OF PAN TANG, CLOVEN HOOF, JAGUAR, ELIXIR)
- May 10 - SIRENIA, BARE INFINITY @ An Club, Athens

Οντως κριμα… Τετοιες προσπαθειες αξιζανε και αξιζουνε υποστηριξης απο οποιον μπορει αλλα το θεμα ειναι ποιος θα το κανει. Μονο λογια ειμαστε. Εδω μεσα σε αλλο τοπικ ειχε ακουστει ακομα και η αποψη πως ειναι βλακεια να μποϊκοταρουμε live σαν αυτα των Maiden και των Metallica (εκει δηλαδη που μας τον πιανουν κανονικα) και πως για να “τιμωρησουμε” τις εταιριες θα πρεπει να μην στηριζουμε τα “μικρα” live που ειναι περισσοτερα!#-o

Metallica?s ninth album will reportedly arrive in stores this September. A rep for the band declined to confirm or deny the rumor, only telling the Rock Radio, ?It will be out when it?s ready.? The band has a string of European festival appearances confirmed starting in late May.
