Bonfire To Release New Album!

"Dutch progressive metallers TEXTURES have set “Silhouettes” as the title of their third album, due on April 21 via Listenable Records. The CD was recorded at Split Second Sound studio with the group’s guitarist Jochem Jacobs in the producer’s chair. Jacobs previously oversaw the recording process for TEXTURES’ last CD, “Drawing Circles”.

SEPULTURA Working On Album Inspired By ‘A Clockwork Orange’ 8O
“We started the writing process for the SEPULTURA new album today in our studio in Sao Paulo. All the equipament was prepared yesterday by our crew and today we tried some ideas for songs. We will follow kind of the same steps we did in our last album, ‘Dante XXI’, but this time we will be inspired by the book ‘A Clockwork Orange’, first released in 1962 written by Anthony Burgess and it’s a movie, a classic, made by Stanley Kubrik. We will write our soundtrack for this story and Burgess’ life will be an inspiration also to write the music, lyrics and for the artwork. Today at the studio, really good ideas came up, the vibe is great and the songs are coming in a easy and brutal way.”

TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan has told MTV.com that the band will soon be reconvening to start kicking around song ideas for the group’s fifth studio album.
“We’re going to start writing the new TOOL record right away,” he said.
Keenan didn’t say when he expected the band to start tracking the effort, when it might be ready for release or what it might sound like. But with TOOL’s touring schedule wide open for the foreseeable future, he said it’s time for the band to buckle down. He also elaborated on TOOL’s creative process.
“The music always comes first,” Keenan said. “We all get in a room, shut out all the extra noises from the other people and what goes on outside the room and just focus on the four of us, where we are that day. And then we just start making sounds.”
TOOL has been nominated for several Grammy Awards over the years, and they’ve even won three: “Best Metal Performance” in 1997 and 2001; and “Best Recording Package” in 2006 for their most recent LP, “10,000 Days”. This year, TOOL was up for “Best Hard Rock Performance” again, for the “10,000 Days” track “The Pot”, but they lost the award to the FOO FIGHTERS.

Britain’s ANATHEMA has issued the following update:
"We have taken all of our recording equipment to a house in England where we have built a studio and begun the first of two records to be released this year. The recording has been going very well.
"This first record is a semi-acoustic recording of many of our most loved older tracks. This will be released on Peaceville Records. The working title is ‘Temporary Peace’.
The songs to be included on ‘Temporary Peace’ are:

- Leave No Trace
- Inner Silence
- One Last Goodbye
- Are You There
- Fragile Dreams
- A Natural Disaster
- Temporary Peace
- Flying
"The record will be a substantial work, arranged by Danny [Cavanagh] and performed and produced by the band, recorded and engineered by our own Les Smith, who was responsible for the recordings of ‘Everything’ and the other new songs released online last year. This will also feature the cello of Dave Wesling, who previously toured with Vincent and Danny in 2004 and is featured on the DVD ‘A Moment In Time’. It may also include a reworking of one or two classic tracks from the very early days of ANATHEMA.
"In late winter/early spring, immediately following the recording of this semi-acoustic album, we will enter a studio to record the next full-length ANATHEMA album, which be produced by ANATHEMA and mixed by Steven Wilson, independently from a record company. Upon completion, the new album will be licensed around the world, giving us artistic and creative control and keeping the rights to the music in our own hands.
"All being well, you will see the release of two records from ANATHEMA this year. A semi acoustic classic tracks album, and a full-length new album.
