SEBASTIAN BACH Working On Full-Length Country Album
Former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach has issued the following update:
"Greetings from Nashville, Tennessee! We have been completely ensconced in the studio here for the last week, woodshedding in a big way, writing and demoing our asses off. I am happy to say that the writing team of Jeffrey Steele, Vicky McGehee, and myself, the team that brought you ‘Battle With The Bottle’, have been been locked in Jeffrey’s studio, with our intention being to come up with a full album sometime in the near future.
"Since the ending of ‘Gone Country 2’, we now have between 10 and 15 songs ‘under construction,’ and we will not stop writing/demoing until we all feel we have a killer record. We all love the song ‘Battle With The Bottle’, but that is only the beginning. We are in the midst of assembling a whole new ‘team’ down here in Nashville that will be able to bring a song to the radio, which we did not have at the time of filming ‘Gone Country 2’.
"Hey, you don’t have to ask me twice to make music!
“I am so very fortunate to have met Jeffrey and Vicky, and the songs we are working on now are truly new and fresh for me as a musician. I really can’t wait for all of you to hear this stuff! Here is a little taste [see video below].”
DOWN: Tokyo Show Filmed For Upcoming DVD
DOWN/ex-PANTERA bassist Rex Brown has told TheTelegraph.com that DOWN shot a recent show live in Tokyo for release on DVD in 2009. “No overdubs. It’s straight and raw as you can get it,” Brown said.
In an interview with Billboard.com conducted this past week, Brown said that DOWN plans to release a documentary of its 2006 reunion after a nearly four-year hiatus, including both live and behind-the-scenes footage. “It’s kind of about us learning how to walk together again,” Brown said of the film, which is not yet finished and is so far untitled. “It just chronicles the life on the road of us starting to play again. We’re right in the middle of it now.”
Brown, who joined DOWN in 1999, also promised that a new version of DOWN’s 1995 debut, “NOLA”, with him playing bass, “will definitely happen” but hasn’t been planned yet.

Greg Anderson talks exclusively to Rock-A-Rolla about the upcoming SunnO))) opus, due for release in Spring 2009.
“The album is coming along…slowly” Greg tells us. “This is definitely the longest we have spent making a record. We didn’t put any boundaries or limits on this whilst planning or working on it so it has developed very naturally.”
The album, currently untitled, will feature a host of guests, including former Mr Bungle/Secret Chiefs 3 violinist Eyvind Kang, jazz legend Julian Priester and vocalist Jessika Kenney. The Gauntlet recently spoke with ANTHRAX rhythm guitarist, Scott Ian. When asked about what covers the band recorded, Scott Ian stated “We did ‘We Die Young’ by ALICE IN CHAINS, ‘New Noise’ from a band called REFUSED, ‘Brain of J.’ from PEARL JAM. I am drawing a blank on some of the other ones. Oh, we did ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ by AC/DC. That one, we have been playing live forever. We finally decided to bust it out in the studio. We did that one as straight as straight can be. We actually got the same Marshall head that AC/DC uses. I think it was a ?67 JPM45 or something. We also got a Angus Young SG and a Malcolm Young Gretsch Jet Firebird that I played. We just did it straight up as possible and it came out amazing.”
