να σας πω ρε λεβέντες. στο spirit the earth aflame υπήρχε το the burning season από το ep και τώρα στη νέα έκδοση που βγαίνει όπου να ναι από metal blade (στο στυλ των imrama/journey’s end) θα έχει και τα 3 υπόλοιπα tracks του ep. επειδή δε γουστέρνω να το ξαναγοράζω το δίσκιο όμως, μήπως έχει πάρει το μάτι σας πουθενά το ep μόνο του? έχω πολύ καιρό να το δω κάπου…
σε άλλα νέα, έχει πάρει κανείς το imrama της metal blade (που έχει μέσα το dark romanticism, το οποίο επίσης δεν το βρίσκω και σίγουρα δε θα το βρω ποτέ) να μας πει τι λέει? έχει και ένα dvdακι αν θυμάμαι καλά…
Τα υπόλοιπα 3 κομμάτια του Burning Season βρίσκονται στην προηγούμενη επανέκδοση του Spirit The Earth Aflame απ’ τη Hammerheart. Απ’ ότι βλέπω πάντως η νέα επανέκδοσή του έχει κι άλλα πράματα μέσα που στην πλειοψηφία τους βρίσκονται όμως και στην επανέκδοση του Dark Romanticism.
Τώρα το Burning Season EP καθαυτό δεν το έχει πάρει πουθενά το μάτι μου.
είσαι σίγουρος? νομίζω πως ήταν στην αμερικάνικη (πρώτη) έκδοση του spirit the earth aflame, καθώς και στις επανεκδόσεις των imrama και journey’s end… τέσπα, νομίζω ότι βρήκα την έκδοση του ιμραμα απο καρμαγεδων, οπότε κομπλέ.

το βιβλιαράκι καλό (σημειώσεις του αρχηγού, στίχους, τα γαμάτα flyers των συναυλιών τους και φωτογραφίες + τα 2 εξώφυλλα του Imrama). Το dvd δεν το χω δει αλλά απ 'ότι είχα διαβάσει στο χάμερ είναι απο τiς πρώτες τους συναλίες (είχαν corpsepaint).
Ναι, έχεις δίκιο.

imrama παρήγγειλα την επανέκδοση της karmaggedon (η οποία είναι επανέκδοση της επανέκδοσης από την hammerheart) και περιμένω να ρθει. λογικά θα είναι ίδια με την αντίστοιχη του journey’s end που χω, χωρίς το slipcase…
τώρα μου μένει μόνο το dark romanticism της candlelight και είμαι κομπλέ.
…αν κάποια στιγμή πέσουν αρκετά οι τιμές των επανεκδόσεων της metal blade, ίσως τις τιμήσω κι αυτές :roll:
Νόμιζα ότι ήρθε η ώρα να γράψω κι εγώ εδώ, αλλά δεν περίμενα να μην ξέρω τι να πω, από που να το πιάσω, που να καταλήξω.
Ξεκινώ με τη σειρά που τ’ακουσα και βλέπουμε που θα πάει…
“To The Nameless Dead”, η πρώτη επαφή, καθοριστική για τη συνέχεια.
Empire Falls, τοπία άγριας φύσης παίρνουν μορφή, ατμόσφαιρα που ξεχειλίζει οργή και ένα απροσδιόριστο αίσθημα ειλικρίνειας (I am my fathers son
And his deeds cannot be undone).
Ένα διαφορετικό αίσθημα έρχεται να επικαλύψει τις προηγούμενες εικόνες, αυτό της συνειδητοποίησης. Συνειδητοποίηση του ανεκπλήρωτου μέσα από συνεχή αναζήτηση.
Αναζήτηση για τι? Tην απάντησή μου τη βρήκα κάπου εδώ: I’m a heathen, searching for his soul. Έτσι έρχεται να κλείσει το Gallows Hymn. Μ’ αυτό κλείνω και εγώ, χωρίς να ξεχνώ βέβαια τα Failures Burden, Heathen Tribes, No Nation On This Earth (λίγο-πολύ όλα).
Συνέχεια με The Gathering Wilderness, Εισαγωγή με Golden Spiral.
Η χρυσή σπείρα γενικά συμβολίζει την αρμονία της τελειότητας, αυτή τη φορά, θα μπορούσε να συμβολίσει τους αρχέγονους, άσπαστους δεσμούς μεταξύ ανθρώπων και θεών? Δεν ξέρω…αυτό που σίγουρα ξέρω είναι ότι δε σε προετοιμάζει για τη συνέχεια.
Τα φαντάσματα του παρελθόντος τα διαδέχεται το σκοτάδι που κατακλύζει ψυχές και ζωές ολόκληρες, τους μύθους διαδέχεται η πραγματικότητα και κάποια στιγμή έρχεται η μέρα που όλα ανατρέπονται, The End Of All Times, για να ακολουθήσει το συγκλονιστικό The Coffin Ships. Κάπου εδώ είίναι το σημείο που βυθίζεσαι, ακόμα περισσότερο, τα μάτια γίνονται υγρά και δυσκολεύεσαι, όχι μόνο να το περιγράψεις, ακόμα και να το κατανοήσεις.
Cities Carved In Stone και μια γεύση πικρίας ως επίλογος.
Storm Before Calm. Πόσο πιο πραγματικό? Πόσο πιο διαχρονικό?
Η γαλήνη είτε προηγείται, είτε έπεται της καταιγίδας. Στην προκειμένη περίπτωση βιώνουμε την καταιγίδα, για να ακολουθήσει η γαλήνη.

Το Gods To The Godless είναι σίγουρα στην κορυφή του άλμπουμ, αίσθημα επιθυμίας για καταστροφή, ασίγαστου μίσους, υπόσχεσης για εκδίκηση. Δύσκολο να ταυτιστεί κάποιος με τέτοιες καταστάσεις, όχι αδύνατο όμως. Άλλωστε δεν ξέρω κατά πόσο η ταύτιση είναι το ζητούμενο.
Αν προσθέσουμε The Soul Must Sleep, The Burning Season, The Cruel Sea, κερδίζει επάξια μια από τις πρώτες θέσεις.

Bump, γιατί έχουμε νέα από τους αγαπημένους μας. Όπως δήλωσε ο Άλαν στο τελευταίο Χάμμερ (στο Γιοβανίτη για το δίσκο των Blood Revolt, όπου τραγουδάει), οριστικά δεν έχει πλέον καινούριο Primordial δίσκο για το 2010. Απ’ τις αρχές του '11 βλέπουμε (μαλακία). Είπε κι ένα καλό όμως, ότι σκέφτονται να μας έρθουν εδώ γύρω στο Δεκέμβρη, και επιβεβαίωσε αυτά που έλεγε τότε ότι το show (αν γίνει τελικά βέβαια) οι ίδιοι θέλουν να είναι τσάμπα ή με πολύ φτηνό εισιτήριο (γαμώ, και για τα δύο).
ΚΑΘΕ ΠΕΡΙΣΥ ΚΑΙ ΚΑΛΥΤΕΡΑ?ΤΟ ΑΝΤΙΘΕΤΟ…καθε καινουργιος δισκος τους και καλυτερος

Δεν πειράζει, απλά ένας λιγότερος δίσκος στις “καλύτερες κυκλοφορίες της χρονιάς”.
Δεν ήξερα ότι έδιωξαν τον ντράμερ, ήταν ήλιου φανερότερο ότι θα γινόνταν, αλλά δεν είδα πουθενά καμιά ανακοίνωση, κάποιο νέο.

stages of some of the biggest metal festivals in 2011 and
of course some form of income from those?.It?s preferable they know extreme metal of course, that?s where we
came from, but more importantly, the Maidens, Sabbaths, Motorheads and
Thin Lizzys of this world as that?s where the drumming in Primordial

PRIMORDIAL UPDATE ? SAMHAIN 2010

It?s been a while since my last confession.
Joking aside it really has been a long time since our last transmission and the reasons are manifold and really pretty simple. This has been one of the most tumultuous years in the band since the mid nineties. The wheels very nearly came clean off, so where do I start.
We can?t go any further without clearing up the drummer situation. Truth is, we had an incident in Greece that if you follow or know anything about the band has been well documented so we won?t go into again. Simon had some real problems that night, firstly we thank the Greek fans for their understanding and we will be back in 2011. Yes it?s true in the aftermath of that we auditioned some drummers and I must also thank everyone who applied from abroad, the Irish drummers we did play with and everyone who sent us emails and messages wishing us strength and asking after Simon.
Suffice is to say Simon is the drummer of Primordial and I have no doubt this will never change, he is fit and well and we rehearsed yesterday. For our own piece of mind we had to audition people and in hindsight maybe something positive came out of it in that we had to put the album recording back and I feel we will be better prepared. We all of course have a long history together of over two decades in various personal combinations and to put it mundanely you go through ups and downs and this year has had more than it?s fair share of downs. For the first time in years we played a few very average shows and by our own admission became unfocused. Yet as always we regroup, our own biggest critics and in one month we enter the studio to record album number seven.
We would like to extend massive thanks to Gareth Averill for filling in at short notice for a fistful of gigs over the summer. In case you didn?t know he?s the guy who shot and edited our dvd and as you may recognise, my cousin. He stood up to the plate and in a couple of days learned our set, having been a session drummer in the Irish indie/rock scene for a decade. The whole experience and auditioning drummers at the very least gave us a greater insight into the dynamic that makes Primordial Primordial and that dynamic belongs to all five of us. We may have stand ins for shows now and again because we are not a professional band nor make a living from it and life gets in the way of us all doing every show but we realised that replace one of the five of us creatively and Primordial is not Primordial.
For the foreseeable future Cathal Murphy is going to be behind the kit live, making his debut with us at the end of the month in Spain and Portugal. Simon is just taking a break for a short while, nothing more and nothing less. This will be our first time in Madrid and Barcelona since 2000 when we played with Immortal. Been way too long.
Touring and festival plans are being thrown about now for 2011, hopefully some more news very soon?
The new songs are coming thick and fast at this stage as studio time is approaching. Sometimes I really wish we made a living from the band so could take more time than the snatches of rehearsal we get but that said we also thrive on some pressure and it seems to give the songs some extra edge. Foel Studios in Wales is booked for two sessions in November and December. Looking forward to a Welsh Indian Winter.
Bring on the monsoon season.
