Η Βιέννη είναι φτιαγμένη για περπάτημα και έχει διάφορα ωραία να δει κανείς έξω όπως το Ankeruhr Clock & το Colonna Della Peste και μουσικούς του δρόμου να παίζουν Κλασσική εδώ και εκεί.
Θα πρότεινα να πάτε μια φορά έτσι για την εμπειρία να φάτε σε Leberkas-Pepi …τοπική αλυσίδα που πουλάει ας πούμε βρώμικο σάντουϊτς με κάτι σαν μορταδέλα. Εγώ είχα πρόβλημα στο κομμάτι της παραγγελίας (ιδέα δεν είχα τι διάβαζα και έβλεπα) οπότε δύο φορές που πήγα απλά είπα “Θέλω αυτό που πήρε ο προηγούμενος” …και έπιασε το κόλπο μου!
…για ντόπιο αναψυκτικό θα πρότεινα: almduddler.
Αν πάτε στα ανάκτορα Schönbrunn (εγώ απαραίτητο δε θα το έλεγα! !) τότε να περάσετε σίγουρα απ’το εστιατόριο/καφέ του για appfelstrudel με βανίλια. Επίσης να πάρετε το μεγάλο εισιτήριο για όσα περισσότερα δωμάτια γίνεται, τα καλά δωμάτια δεν είναι στο μικρό tour.
Αν πάτε στο Κάστρο Belvedere λόγο Κλιμτ κλπ τότε μη χάσετε και το Μουσείο στρατιωτικής Ιστορίας λίγο παρακάτω. Είναι πολύ δυνατό, έχει και το αμάξι στο οποίο ήταν ο Franz Ferdinand όταν τον πυροβόλησαν!
Κατά τ’αλλα Albertina και εθνική βιβλιοθήκη είναι must.

ΛΟΙΠΟΝ, θέλω μερακλής/ου και ορεξάτος/η μόρτης/μόρτισσα να μου αραδιάσει ΤΑ ΚΑΛΥΤΕΡΑ ΦΑΓΑΔΙΚΑ/ΕΣΤΙΑΤΟΡΙΑ/ΤΑΒΕΡΝΙΑ/ΟΤΙ ΣΕ ΡΩΜΗ, διότι πάει σήμερα πολύ καλός φίλος με την οικογένειά του - και εγώ η αλήθεια είναι, μιας και όταν πήγα προέκυψε κατευθείαν θέμα με φρονιμίτη και την πέρασα με παυσίπονα κτλ, δεν έχω και τις καλύτερες προτάσεις να κάνω (σε κανέναν δηλαδή)

Σχεδιάζω εξόρμηση Δουβλίνο για μια εβδομάδα τον Ιούνιο. Αν υπάρχει καμιά καλη πρόταση για διαμονή, καλοδεχουμενη!
Εννοείται θα εκτιμήσω πληροφορίες κ για must see,όχι μόνο σε Δουβλίνο αλλά κ περίχωρα…ιδιαιτέρως μέρη για φυσιολάτρες.

Το 14 που είχα πάει είχα μείνει υπερκεντρικά σε airbnb αλλά απ πτι ξέρω πλέον ειναι πανάκριβα. Όπως και δηποτε να πας στο newgrange που ειναι κανα μισάωρο αν θυμάμαι καλά. Ένας θολωτός τάφος από πάντα. Εκπληκτικό μέρος

My time to shine!
Κάτοικος Δουβλίνου μεταξύ 2020 - 2023 και σχεδιάζω τη μεγάλη επιστροφή το φθινόπωρο, γιατί απλά η Ιρλανδία και οι Ιρλανδοί είναι γαμάτη/οι και είναι η πιο futureproof ευρωπαική χώρα για μόνιμη μετοίκηση με τη σύντροφο μου (από άποψη θεσμών, δουλειών, γλώσσας, παρεών, κουλτούρας, επιλογών, αεροδρομίου, φύσης, ομορφιάς, ανθρώπων, κ.λπ.). Μόλις προσγειώθηκα μάλιστα από βδομαδούλα επίσκεψης.
Σου παραθέτω στα αγγλικά έναν γρήγορο οδηγό που είχα ετοιμάσει για τον τότε Αμερικανό μάνατζέρ μου και κάποια μηνύματα που έστειλα πρόσφατα σε φίλους μου που πήγαν. Αν θες κάτι πιο συγκεκριμένο πες μου.
ΜΗΝΥΜΑΤΑ ΣΕ ΦΙΛΟΥΣ
- Πάρκα: κάντε βόλτα στο Grand Canal, στο Phoenix Park (το μεγαλύτερο αστικό πάρκο της Ευρώπης με ελάφια που κυκλοφορούν ανάμεσα στους ανθρώπους), στο St. Stephen’s Green.
- Αν θέλετε μικρή μονοήμερη με χαλαρό hike, το Dalkey είναι υπέροχο, και προσβάσιμο με συνοικιακό τρένο. Φημίζεται για τον αστακό του και είναι από τις πιο πλούσιες συνοικίες της χώρας.
- Για εξαιρετική ιρλανδική κουζίνα να πάτε στο Davy Byrnes στο κέντρο. Ειδικά το fish chowder του δεν υπάρχει.
- Ένας φοβερός φούρνος είναι το IL Valentino. Όλα φοβερά, και ο καφές τους. Και για σάντουιτς το pig and heifer. Νομίζω και τα 2 έχουν παραπάνω από ένα κατάστημα, το Valentino αν θυμάμαι καλά έχει 3. Joy of Cha επίσης καλό για brunch και καφέ.
- Για nightlife, το Temple Bar είναι φουλ τουριστικό. Να πάτε να δείτε το Temple Bar, μπείτε και μέσα να δείτε πως είναι, αλλά είναι πολύ κακό για το τίποτα, και τίγκα στους τουρίστες και τα κακά μαγαζιά - tourist traps. Για πιο ωραία μαγαζιά, αλλά με άπειρο κόσμο, πάτε γύρω από το St. Stephen’s Green και Rathmines. Ξέρω και πιο ψαγμένα πράγματα, αλλά έχετε λίγες μέρες και θα θέλετε να δείτε τα βασικά του κέντρου.
- Επίσης βασική συμβουλή, τα ταξί δεν είναι υπερβολικά ακριβά, αλλά είναι δυσεύρετα Παρασκευή και Σάββατο βράδυ. Προνοήστε λίγο για τις μετακινήσεις σας βράδυ Παρασκευής και Σαββάτου, γιατί γίνεται μακελειό από κόσμο, και οι ταξιτζήδες δεν παίρνουν εύκολα κόσμο γιατί είναι όλοι τύφλα, και ακόμα και τα λεωφορεία δεν σταματάνε άμα δουν πολύ κόσμο. Γενικά Παρασκευή και Σάββατο βράδυ το Δουβλίνο γίνεται λίγο Βαγδάτη δυστυχώς.
- Ψαγμένες pubs: the Celt η τοπ, και έχει και κρυφό μπαρ. Dohennys and Nesbitt για τσιλ κλασικά vibes. Cobblestone και Toners καλες. Και γενικά αν βγείτε στο Rathmines, το δρόμο που είναι το The Camden, είναι η πιο busy nightlife της πόλης, ενώ οι τουρίστες πάνε στο temple bar. Caribou ωραίο μπαρ με ψαγμένο κατάλογο σε μπύρες και ουίσκια. Ροκόμπαρο: Fibber Magees και έχει και φοβερό χώρο με διάφορα μαγαζιά και φαί σε υπαίθρια αυλή (μόνο λόκαλς ξέρουν πόσο γαμάτο είναι το Fibber Magees).
- Φοβερό μπέργκερ και μπριζόλες στο featherblade, κάντε κράτηση. Ωραίο και το Bunsen. Τοπ τηγανητό κοτόπουλο στο Mad Egg και καλό κινέζικο στο X’ian (τα χειροποίητα νουντλς τους είναι ό, τι πιο κοντινό με αυτά που έχω φάει στην Κίνα).
- Φοβερό κεμπάπ το Chiya. Ινδικό το Dosa Dosa. Falafel από το Umi Falafel με έξτρα χαλούμι, μούρλια.
- Fish’n’chips από το Leo Burdock και βόλτα στο St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
- Καφεδάκι στο Cafe en Seine, Bewleys (Grafton Street), Mind the Step, Winding Stair (cute).
- Για μένα αν σας αρέσει κάτι ιστορικό αξίζει και το Kilmanhaim Gaol με το τουρ.
ΠΡΟΤΑΣΕΙΣ ΣΤΟΝ ΑΜΕΡΙΚΑΝΟ ΜΑΝΑΤΖΕΡ
I would say spend 3 nights in Dublin, maybe two full days exploring the city, and one day getting to a couple of locations around the city. Since I consider the Boyne Valley Drive a must, I’d recommend either doing that taking a one-day road trip from Dublin, or setting off from Dublin and spending the night around the region. Then I’d set off for the southeast, making some good stops along the way (Kilkenny, Rock of Cashel, etc.). Explore Cork for a day and do the Ring of Kerry and Skellig Michael tour. Then go to the West, Galway, Cliffs of Moher, and Arran Islands. 2-3 nights in the region would be great.
I hesitate to recommend more for now, because it may be worth slowing down sightseeing to really digest the Irish scenery and local life. For example, you could choose not to do some sightseeing (perhaps driving as far as Skellig Michael or doing the Arran Islands ferry tour), but instead rent a nice sea-view cottage in the west/southwest region and take your time to explore local life. Local life is for sure worth it, you definitely want to go to the local pub in an Irish village to drink with the old lads! And second, there are so many golf courses in Ireland, I’m sure you would want to find the best to spend some time golfing. I will ask around for that, stay tuned!
Just let me know if you have any specific interests, like maybe you want to do cycling, or some heavier hiking, maybe some other sports, etc. Also, I haven’t yet recommended specific pubs/bars/restaurants, I’ll do that when you finalize your plans.
Other tips:
- Plan for the weather as much as possible. The Met Eireann website and app are the most accurate.
- Bring rainproof clothing.
- Bring good hiking shoes, if possible mountain hiking shoes even. Much of the ground, especially in historical sites, is very muddy and slippery. Always have ready an extra pair of clothing and some paper/towels to clean your shoes/clothes as well, a fall in the mud is very likely in some places!
- Irish roads are very, very (VERY) narrow, especially for Americans. In cities, you shouldn’t have a problem, but in the countryside, you won’t believe that two vehicles fit on some roads. So, prepare for that mentally, take it easy, and fight the impulse to rent a large vehicle! Ireland is among the safest countries in the EU for driving, drivers are generally good and patient here. And of course, no turning right at a red light!
- Accommodation prices are quite crazy. The whole country suffers from a housing crisis, and this has affected tourist accommodation too. There are even professionals who come here for work and stay in hotels and hostels for long before finding permanent housing. Combine that with the holiday season, and you see hostel beds costing 100$. My point is to plan as early as possible.

Maybe worth exploring if you had a month in Ireland, now I wouldn’t recommend it.|Avoid|

Σε υπερευχαριστώ κι εννοείται το κάνω save και ελληνιστί και αγγλιστί.
Σχεδιάζουμε ενοικίαση αυτοκινήτου οπότε θα υπάρχει μια ευελιξία στη μετακίνηση…άρα θα τα αποφύγουμε τα ταξί. 
Με έψησες φουλ με τις προτάσεις για πάρκα κ φαγητό. Εννοείται θα κάνω review σε οτι ακολουθήσω.

Εγώ από την άλλη που ζω δυτικά (Galway) έχω αντίθετη άποψη: δύο διανυκτερεύσεις στο Δουβλίνο και 4-5 στην Δύση είναι καλύτερα (αν επιθυμείτε περισσότερο να δείτε φύση).

100% συμφωνώ! Αν το ταξίδι είναι “Ιρλανδία” και όχι “Δουβλίνο” αλλάζει το πράγμα και θα σου δώσουμε άλλες συμβουλές.
Επίσης αμάξι ναι, αλλά το αποφεύγουμε στο κέντρο της πόλης, γίνεται λίγο χαμός από κίνηση. Επίσης γίνεται χαμός μπαίνοντας/βγαίνοντας Δουβλίνο στις ώρες αιχμής που πάει/φεύγει κόσμος από δουλειά.

Ναι, έπεσε στο τραπέζι κ αυτό αλλα θέλουμε να αποφύγουμε την αλλαγή “στέγης” μετά από λίγες μέρες ενώ μπορούμε να έχουμε μια βάση κ απλά να κάνουμε μονοήμερη σε μέρη που θέλουμε να δούμε during the day για το φυσικό τους τοπίο.
Ότι θέλετε! Πάντως έτσι θα σας βγει πολύ ακριβότερα (το Δουβλίνο είναι φαρμάκι) και δεν θα δείτε πολλά φανταστικά μέρη λόγω απόστασης. Kerry, Galway και Clare είναι “must”.
PS: Δεν πιέζω προφανώς!
Είχα πάει παρόμοια περίοδο το 2022 στο Δουβλίνο και είχα μείνει σε ξενώνα (; ) του πανεπιστημίου, μέσα στην πανεπιστημιούπολη. Θυμάμαι μάλιστα ότι ήταν σημαντικά φθηνότερο το διαμέρισμα που έμενα από το φθηνότερο hostel, είναι αρκετά ακριβή χώρα απ’ ότι θυμάμαι, και αυτό αφορά και την ενοικίαση αυτοκινήτου. Είχα γνωρίσει μια Νοτιοαφρικανή και της είχαν πέσει τα μαλλιά από τα λεφτά που της ζήτησαν για ενοικίαση αυτοκινήτου αλλά δεν θυμάμαι ποσό πλέον.

Αυτό “το φαρμάκι” που λες, είναι το αρνητικό που έχω εντοπίσει μέχρι στιγμής.
Επίσης ένα αλλο θέμα είναι το αεροδρόμιο κ το να είναι βολική η απόσταση απ το μέρος όπου κ θα μείνουμε… Κ ηταν ένας λόγος που επιλέξαμε Δουβλίνο σαν βάση.
Πάντως πήρα ταξί με την κοπέλα μου από και προς το αεροδρόμιο αυτήν την εβδομάδα για κέντρο της πόλης και ήταν 29 ευρώ τη μία φορά, 34 την άλλη. Οπότε είναι λογικές οι τιμές ως προς αυτό.
Η διαμονή άσ’το. Είναι απίστευτα ακριβή. Η λύση που αναφέρει ο @J_Fisherman παραπάνω είναι λογική, πολλές πανεπιστημιακές εστίες δίνουν τα δωμάτια τους το καλοκαίρι σε guests.
Για το δίλημμα Δουβλίνο βάση + μονοήμερες VS Δουβλίνο 2 νύχτες + π.χ. 4 νύχτες με βάση στα δυτικά, έχω να πω εξαρτάται τι θέλετε. Αν θέλετε κυρίως πόλη και λίγο φύση, κάνετε το πρώτο, αν θέλετε το αντίστροφο, το δεύτερο. Αλλά η φύση, τα χωριά και το vibe που θα πάρετε με μονοήμερες από το Δουβλίνο δε φτάνουν ούτε το 50% της φύσης και του vibe με ένα πραγματικό ταξίδι στα δυτικά/βορειοδυτικά/νοτιοδυτικά. Για μένα είναι 2 ξεχωριστά ταξίδια, εκτός αν έχει κάποιος 15-20 μέρες.
