Από τα καλύτερα ατμοσφαιρικά black metal που άκουσα φέτος. Τα σκληρά μέρη είναι καλά. Τα μελωδικά μέρη είναι καταπληκτικά.

Χμ, τους έχω ξαναψάξει αυτούς αλλά δεν έχω βάλει να ακούσω κάτι. Παίζουν το άλλο Σάββατο λάηβ αλλά έχουμε εορταστικό τραπέζι με την σχολή ρε γαμώτο. Αν προλάβω ίσως πεταχτώ να ακούσω τι παίζει.

Δίσκος συνεργασία από το ρόστερ της Debemur Morti, με μέλη Vindsval (BLUT AUS NORD), Marion (MÜTTERLEIN) and Dehn Sora (THROANE), για την επέτειο 20 χρόνων του label.
Ακούγοντας το, διάβαζα και τις σημειώσεις ταυτόχρονα και ένα κακεντρεχείς, θα μπορουσε να πει: μου φαίνεται λίγο επιτηδευμένο. Γιατί όταν γράφεις "An instinctive record, written and recorded over a short yet intense period" και κυρίως "perfectly showcases where the label has been and is now headed, merging shadowed hues of underground extremity – including here Black Metal, Industrial, post-Punk, vicious Hardcore and Dark Ambient"…δηλαδή βάλτε μέσα ότι ήχο εκπροσωπεί η εταιρία 
Ένας κακεντρεχείς είπαμε, όχι εγώ 
πέρα από την πλάκα όμως μια χαρά είναι και όντως εκπροσωπεί τον ήχο της Debemur. Βασικά μόνο οι κιθάρες του Vindsval αρκούν.

Although the material is only about to be released now, the roots of the project go back many years and due to the band members’ busy schedules, they were waiting for the right time to unleash their creativity. The Fall - known for his work with owls woods graves, Over the Voids… and as a live bassist for Mgła - and Darkside - known as the Mgła and Kriegsmaschine drummer - decided to venture further than the typical and conventional boundaries of black metal in their musical exploration.
Over the years, the band has undergone numerous clinical deaths and reanimations but eventually recorded their debut “Hollow” in 2023. Deeply rooted in negative metal music, it leans toward other genres and forms of expression to seek analogue musical sounds of sleepless nights and surreal, anxiety-provoking hallucinations.
“Hollow” could be described as a field recording of a feverish nightmare. Despite its metal foundations, the music on “Hollow” constantly turns into side streets of other, often difficult to term and locate, music genres. It is an album built on the foundation of rubble and debris of visions that developed and died back throughout the years. The documentation of spirit decay and life slipping through the fingers.

Η επιρροή του Burzum εδώ μέσα είναι κάτι παραπάνω από προφανής, γενικά έχουμε καθάριο old school μονόχνοτο, ατμοσφαιρικό black metal.

Καλά ξεκινήσαμε.
Και καλά συνεχίζουμε. Βαρβάτη necro obscure επιστροφή, αρκετά οριακή από τους Departure Chandelier. Όσα εκτίμησαν το ντεμπούτο του 2019, εδώ το πράγμα ασχημαίνει:
Άντε να βγάλουν και Sainte Marie Des Loups να γίνουμε (τρόπος του λέγειν).
Bonus, για όσα προτιμούν το ευρωπαϊκό τους black metal να μην είναι norsecore, έρχεται τούτο το ντεμπούτο από Ιρλανδία, αρκετά αξιόλογο και εκλεκτικό σε μίνι σπόιλερ θα δηλώσω:
Bonus, για να κλείνουμε λογαριασμούς με το 2023, τρομερό κασκάδιο, πανοπτικό αλλά και τραχύ black metal από τους Yfel, σε μια κυκλοφορία που ευελπιστώ να μην την φάει η μαρμάγκα. Από τα καλύτερα πράγματα που άκουσα στη φάση περσυ:

PESTILENGTH “Basom Gryphos” [2022]
Ηχητικά θα έπρεπε πιθανόν να το βάλω στο death metal νήμα, αλλά αισθητικά μάλλον εδώ ανήκει περισσότερο. Το ισπανικό ντουέτο δημιουργεί ένα ακαθόριστο κράμα black & death (black/doom λέει το archives, εγώ δε θα λεγα ότι ακούω κάτι τέτοιο, αν και υπάρχουν doom-οειδή στοιχεία), με εντελώς ασαφείς ρυθμούς και ακατάληπτα φωνητικά να γρυλίζουν εξίσου ακατάληπτες λέξεις. Κατά έναν μεταφυσικό τρόπο κατορθώνουν να βρίσκονται στη σωστή πλευρά της λεπτής γραμμής που χωρίζει το μπανάλ απ’ το καθηλωτικό.
Όπου νάναι βγαίνει και ο διάδοχος “Solar Clorex”.
